There is no computer that comes without speakers, but the question is—“How good is the quality of the speakers?”. Albeit, every computer has a default speaker, but the fact is that the quality of the speakers is never up to the mark.

Laptops are no different to this issue! Unless, yours is a multimedia laptop, the built-in speakers will not generate high quality sound. Built-in speaker is a disappointment, but you can attach external systems to enhance the quality of the laptop speaker. Let us have a look at such laptop systems.

Mobile speaker

Mobile speakers are the ones that do not need any USB cable to plug in to the system. This kind of speakers requires not more than 5 Watts. Also, the quality rendered by the speakers will differ according to the manufacturers and models.

The smaller and circular design of the speakers will fit into many places, where other speakers do not have any such chances. Logitech Z305 is one of the examples of a mobile speaker.

Powered desktop speaker

Unlike mobile speakers, powered desktop speakers are not portable. These speakers are also, bigger than the mobile speakers. Usual components of these speakers are two sound units and a subwoofer embedded into it. Powered desktop speakers are generally, fixed on the wall. They require more power viz. in the range of 20-200 Watts, as these speakers come along with built-in amplifiers that are responsible for drawing huge energy.

Cyber Acoustics CA 3602 is one of the powered desktop speakers. This contains 2 speakers and a subwoofer. The side channels take up almost 6 Watts and the bass consumes not less than 18 Watts of power.

High-End speaker

These speaker systems have the best sound quality that you can think of. High-End speakers are the complete speaker systems that have magnetic shielding, crossovers and many other features. Most of the high-end speaker system manufacturers include their amplifiers and other manufacturers need a receiver connection.

High end speakers support USB and a mini jack, which are needed to connect to the laptop. These speakers have control over volume and bass. There is also, a mute button on the wire.

Once you have decided on the kind of speaker that will suit your needs, both on the basis of performance and portability, you can think about the budget factor.
