Is your system not sounding well? Then definitely you need to pay a check towards the audio drive. So before starting to detect the problem you need to keep a check of few things. So for your convenience I have listed a few things that you need to check:
There are a few simple things to check first:
- Do check that your computer has a sound card.
Now you need to perform following steps but for this purpose you must be logged in as an administrator.
- Just go to the start button and click on the Open Device Manager, then click Control Panel, now select System and Maintenance, and then click in Device Manager. In case between the procedure you are queried about your username and password, then just enter it, its a matter of confirmation.
- Now maximise the Sound, video and game controllers’ category. So now you need to check that weather a sound card is installed or not, if yes then probably there are some other faults to be checked out. But if you don’t find a sound card then probably you need to install it.
Things to remember
- And in case, you are of a notion that the sound card is installed in your system then probably you need to see it under the Sound, video and game controllers’ category, also expand the other devices category and surf for the sound card.
- In case while finding out the issue you somehow get a yellow question mark on the screen next to the sound card, there might be a problem. No you need to clear the problem, so right-click the name of the sound card, and then click Properties. So that you get to know the real matter in issue.
- Now just click the General tab, and peep in the Device status box so that you may detect problems with the sound card. And thus take further steps.
- I forgot to make this point mandatory, but please make sure that your speakers are plugged into a working power source and turned on.
- Also assure that your speakers are correctly connected to the computer in the correct ports.
Put your speakers on the switched on mode, and do find out the cables are plugged into the speakers and the correct jack on the computer. For an instance if the cable is a 1/8 inch cable, there should be a round jack for it on the back of the computer. If it is a universal serial bus (USB) cable, it will plug into any USB port on your computer.
- Also before starting to do the amendments do check that the speakers aren’t muted or on a low volume.
- Now simply open Volume Control by fumbling fingers over the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, and then, under Audio Devices and Sound, clicking Adjust system volume.
- Now under the icon of Main Volume, try to move the slider so that the volume may adjust.
Things to remember
- At times it happens that some mobile PCs have an external volume control which is located on the outside of the case. If you’re using a mobile PC, check the external volume control probably you may find it there.
Also do assure yourself that your headphones are not plugged into the line out (headphone) jack of your sound card or computer.
And in case still you are facing some problems then probably you should check the list of instruction that would have come with the speakers and computer.
